Chamber Choir Soglasije (pronounce ‘Soglasya’ and phonetic for Согласие) is a high-level vocal amateur singing-company consisting of approximately 35 members.
Soglasije means harmony, assent and agreement. This, in addition to the musical concepts, stands for how we wish to relate to our fellow human beings and fellow singers, wherever they are in the world.
The singers of our Russian chamber choir Soglasije come from both the Netherlands and the Slavic region (Russia, Belarus, Poland and Slovakia). Most singers have experience with the Russian repertoire and have previously sung to ‘ Russian ‘ or Byzantine choirs. Enthusiastically we started at the end of 2015. We sang our varied repertoire during our first trip to Moscow and cities in the golden Ring in 2016 and were received there with great enthusiasm.
This reception and the contacts with the audiences, both young and old, were heart-warming. In 2016 we also gave three concerts in the Netherlands.
In 2017 we were invited to the festival ‘ Stadt der Chöre ‘ in Vienna. We received many compliments about our choir, the performances and the repertoire. We also gave four concerts in the Netherlands and started rehearsals for the (Russian) Matthew Passion by Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev): our new project for 2018 and 2019. We are going to perform this oratorium in April 2018 in Moscow, along with two renowned choirs and an orchestra in the Crocus City Hall. We will also give some concerts in Moscow with our renewed regular program.
We have been working hard to prepare the Matthew Passion for April 2019 in the Netherlands. Singing at Soglasije is fun, exciting and inspiring!
We are very happy with our inspiring rehearsal location: The Old-Catholic Church of Mary Magdalena, Papenpad 13, 1506GR Zaandam We rehearse there on every Monday evening from 19.15 to 22.15 hours.
Our Director Sergey (Sergé) Latychev.
Sergey Latychev was born in Moscow on March 3, 1957. From 1967 to 1972 he studied accordion and trumpet at the Music School No. 53 there and during four years after that at the Music Lyceum (Conservatory), which currently bears the name Schnittke Instituut, where his main subjects were classical accordion and Orchestral direction.
He then continued studying at the State Music Academy (former Gnessin Institute) for 5 years, in Bajan, orchestra and choir management. During his studies he was asked to work as a concertmaster at this institute and, as such, he was engaged there till 1986. In 1982, Sergey Latychev completed his education. After that he served as a conscript for 1.5 years. He spent this time in the army as a sergeant trumpeter in the Guard orchestra – this orchestra was present at the reception of several heads of state.
He gained his work experience when he started as a teacher of music at the Music School in 1975. He then worked as a conductor and lecturer of various ensembles, orchestras and various training institutes, such as the orchestra of the Orenburg State Cossack Choir and the State Institute for Culture in Moscow.
Sergey has been residing in our country together with his wife Gini and their three children Tim, Yuri and Anushka since 1990.
Besides Soglasije, he currently conducts the Alkmaar Russian choir Bjerjozka, the Hoorn Byzantine choir Indrik and the North-Holland Byzantine Male choir in Zaandam.
Because of his great knowledge of the Russian choral music he plays an important role as an initiator, he serves as a source of information for many a man and often asked as guest conductor and juror at international competitions.
On 31 May 2015 Sergey was appointed Knight of the Order of Oranje-Nassau for all these merits. Would you like to know more about Sergey Latychev? Then check out his LinkedIn profile.
Singing in Soglasije is more than singing on a Monday night during rehearsals and concerts. Singers prepare themselves thoroughly for the songs to be studied, by mastering themselves in both text and meaning. It is important to be able to study the parties independently (with the necessary tools). The rehearsals are therefore mainly devoted to sound formation, choral sound and making music together.
The membership fee is €25 per month.
Should you wish to sign in to Soglasije or want to know more about the choir’s concert possibilities, you can use the contact button to get to the contact page.
We still have space for some tenors and basses.
‘Soglasije’ always welcomes new motivated vocal talents.
